Keeping the business part of your practice going requires turning clinical activity into accounting activity. Whether you use a system you created, or accounting software to create invoices and track payment, Nota can help this process.

The first thing to do is set up your billing and practice codes. In the settings screen, select the "Procedure and Practice Codes" section. In the Procedure codes section you may assign default unit values and prices to the billing codes. Nota has loaded commonly used billing codes by default, and you can add to these as you need for your practice. In the practice codes section you may create custom codes and charges, which are specific to your practice.

Once the codes are set up, each completed treatment note becomes a session available to query on the new invoices screen. On this screen, search by date range and Nota will create an entry for any treatment session within that range. After specifying the time period you want to see, Nota shows you all the treatment notes created in that period.

From the list, you may preview the session by selecting the date. When you know which sessions you'd like to use to create an invoice, select the radio button for that session. Two steps is all it takes to create an invoice.

  1. Select the treatment session
  2. Press Print.

You can preview any invoice to see all of the information, and if you’re satisfied with what you see, you can print an invoice to a PDF. If you work with accounting software, or a book keeper who does this for you, you can export a file for uploading to the accounting software.
